Liverpool returns to European action when it takes on Galatasaray at RAMS Park in Turkey on Tuesday.
The Reds know they will face an intimidating atmosphere when the match gets underway, with Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk calling for his players to perform at their maximum intensity.
The Turkish champion has started the season emphatically domestically, winning seven from seven in the league. Yet it suffered a disappointing 5-1 defeat at the hands of German team Eintracht Frankfurt last time out in the Champions League. The Istanbul side features several high-profile players such as Ilkay Gundogan, Leroy Sane, and Mauro Icardi.
As for the Reds, they beat Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the opening match of the Champions League league phase, and will be hoping for a much-improved performance from Saturday’s Premier League defeat against Crystal Palace.
Here’s all the major information ahead of Tuesday’s game.

Team news
The biggest pre-match talking point from Tuesday’s training and press conference was the status of Federico Chiesa. The Italian was drafted into the Champions League squad last week following the injury to Giovanni Leoni.
Chiesa continued his impressive form by scoring on Saturday and then trained with the team on Monday.
However, when the squad was announced later that day, Liverpool’s No. 14 was omitted, with the Reds naming a 21-man group despite being able to select a matchday squad of 23.
Sources initially indicated that was a selection decision, before Arne Slot said it was due to a knock he sustained in training.
Meanwhile, Leoni remains absent, Jayden Danns has suffered a hamstring injury, and Trey Nyoni has been named in the Under-19s squad that travelled to Turkey.
As for Galatasaray, it is expecting Victor Osimhen to be fit. The striker returned from injury on Friday and trained ahead of the game.
“The fact that he played 10 minutes in the last match and continued training with us is a positive thing for us. We will look at his condition today and make a decision,” said Buruk.
