Galatasaray supporters were spotted inside Anfield before kickoff ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Liverpool, despite being banned from attending.

Following their playoff win over Juventus, UEFA banned the Turkish club's fans from attending the away leg of their clash with Liverpool due to severe crowd disturbances. The penalties handed to Galatasaray were a result of their supporters lighting fireworks, throwing objects that harmed other spectators, and clashing with local police.

The ban given to them was a one-match away ticket ban, with the club receiving a €40,000 fine. However, prior to kickoff on Merseyside against Liverpool, Galatasaray fans were bizarrely spotted inside the ground celebrating.

Footage and photos posted to social media appeared to show a group of Galatasaray fans inside the stadium before kickoff, sporting the team's colors. Stewards also surrounded them, and footage showed them chanting prior to kickoff.

"That ban went well," wrote one fan after seeing a video of the Galatasaray fans.
