Christian Comotto emerged in a senior picture for AC Milan this summer, and already, he has changed some more opinions on him.
A young player breaking through and making an impression is not really a new thing. Every summer, Milan normally take a few of the promising youth talents on pre-season just to give some experience against senior teams.
Last summer, Mattia Liberali and Lorenzo Torriani were the big stars in that category. However, this summer has birthed another.
Change of opinions
Christian Comotto was selected for the pre-season tour of Asia and Australia, and he even got his first goal for the senior side in the last friendly in Australia. Massimiliano Allegri reportedly rates him very highly, but chances are unlikely this season.
So, the midfielder was sent on loan with the Futuro team not really being seen as a challenge anymore. So, Serie B outfit Spezia moved and brought him in, to the confusion of their manager Luca D’Angelo, via MilanNews.
“He arrived at Spezia a year younger than Pio Esposito. I’ll tell you the truth: our sporting director, Stefano Melissano, was very good. Because I only knew him marginally and, I have no problem admitting it, I was perplexed by this choice, and I didn’t think he was physically ready for the Serie B championship.
“I had clearly misjudged him: in the second training session, he was tackling huge players like Wiśniewski, Cassata, and Esposito. So what can I say… I had misjudged him, and Melissano pulled off a great move.

“He has a lot of work to do, but what he will never lack here is time. He has the attitude to work and improve.”
A rave review of the Italian, which is becoming a common occurence, and to change opinions so quickly is only a promising sign.
