Many feel that AC Milan need to be spending more than what currently has been. However, that view is not shared by the manager.
After last season, there is probably a feeling that Milan need to overcompensate in the mercato. Spend extra solely because of how bad the season was. However, spending for the sake of it is equally, if not more, damaging.
The Rossoneri cannot afford to spend just because they fancy it; having no European football is a massive limitation. That is not to say that there is no money there, the hunt for a striker proves otherwise. Nevertheless, it is not a blank cheque situation.
No worry
Despite all of this and frustrations from the fans, Massimiliano Allegri is not worried about the spending so far, feeling that his side is in a good place so far this summer. When asked about Liverpool’s spending ahead of the pre-season friendly, he spoke about a lack of envy.

On the spending difference between Milan and Liverpool…
“I’m not envious because the club is working well on the market. Estupinan has arrived and will be important for us. Now we need to find other talented players who will work well with our squad.”
