Liverpool has been told it has an advantage over Arsenal in this season’s Champions League, with the Reds being backed to win should the two sides meet in the final.
Both teams are among the favorites to go all the way in this season’s competition, despite Liverpool going through a rocky patch of form recently. The Reds and the Gunners are well-positioned to reach the knockout stages, with the latter having won all four of their league phase games so far.
With Mikel Arteta’s players riding high both domestically and in Europe, they are now considered the favorites to end their long wait for a Champions League crown - although Arne Slot would be among the first to tell them that doesn’t necessarily guarantee success.
Despite dominating during the early stages of last season’s Champions League and finishing top of the league phase, Liverpool would fall at the first hurdle in the knockout stages to eventual winners Paris Saint-Germain, with the French side also knocking Arsenal out along the way.
Nevertheless, former Reds midfielder Igor Biscan - who was part of the squad that won the 2005 Champions League - sees the Gunners as the favorites to become champions of Europe this season, although he feels they could come unstuck if they meet Liverpool in the final.
Speaking to BOYLE Sports, who offer Champions League odds, Igor Biscan said: “Arsenal are probably in a position like Liverpool were in last year compared to Man City.
“When you're dominating and everything goes really well for you in the league, and then the momentum is so big, with the size of the squad and all the players hitting the right form at the right time, I can see them really going very far (in Europe) in a season like this.
“There are always the usual teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG for sure.
"They have such a quality team and such a quality side.
“So as it is now, I would look at Arsenal as probably my favorite to be in the final.

“In a final between Liverpool and Arsenal, Liverpool’s experience winning the competition could help, but anything is possible.”
Both Liverpool and Arsenal can strengthen their hopes of European glory when they return from the international break later this month.
The Reds face PSV Eindhoven next on November 26, while the Gunners take on Bayern Munich on the same day, with at least one team’s perfect winning record set to come to an end.
