Icardi’s agent puts pressure on Galatasaray amid Milan talk: “Received important offers”

Mauro Icardi’s agent has revealed that he has already has some interesting offers arrive for his client, amid links with AC Milan.

Icardi’s contract with Galatasaray expires in June and at the moment he is third choice in the pecking order. This has led to speculation that he could leave in the winter and even return to Italy, with Milan possibly in pursuit of a new No.9 given Santiago Gimenez’s struggles .

As Gianluca Di Marzio report, these rumours were fuelled after Icardi was spotted in Milan with his partner, but as it turns out he was there to undergo therapy in Crema with his compatriot Juan Carlos Ghezzi.

Despite this, it does not rule out a possible exit. Now, his agent Elio Letterio Pino has explained his client’s situation and confirmed the uncertainty about things with Galatasaray.

“At the moment, no one from the club has made themselves heard. I have read the statements made in recent days by the President and CEO, but the Galatasaray Captain cannot wait until the end of the season to know the club’s intentions,” he said.

“We will wait until December for a possible proposal, after which we will feel free to make other decisions. I say this with the utmost respect towards the fans and Galatasaray management. However, I want to emphasise that Galatasaray remains our priority.

“There is nothing disrespectful in what I say. I reiterate that the Galatasaray captain’s contract cannot be expiring. The club can make the choices it deems appropriate, but a player of his caliber cannot remain on hold for long.

“I have already received important offers both in and outside Europe. Galatasaray fans know how much Mauro loves Galatasaray, but here there are also decisions at stake that affect a man’s private life.

“Icardi, as President Özbek has already emphasised, has helped bring Galatasaray back to the very high levels this magnificent club deserves. Everyone knows he took to the field even when his physical condition wasn’t at its best.

“He gritted his teeth for the good of Galatasaray and these magnificent fans. You’ll understand that the story between Mauro and Galatasaray is a special one. For this reason, Icardi deserves respect, because he is a much-loved player in Turkey.”
