Tottenham manager Igor Tudor felt his team was worthy of the point that it collected from Liverpool at Anfield, with Richarlison grabbing a late equalizer after Dominik Szoboszlai's opener.

Under pressure heading into the clash and with some suggestion that he could be fired after just five games should Tottenham lose, Tudor's team — missing 13 players in total through injury, illness or suspension — managed to escape from Anfield with a point after Liverpool allowed the game to drift.

In an increasingly chaotic second half, Liverpool failed to move further in front and was punished at the end. Rio Ngumoha's performance was a positive, but one that was far outweighed by more negativity.

"It is an amazing, incredible point we take here, and deserved," Tudor said live on Sky Sports. "We showed team spirit. Congratulations to the guys.

"It is very difficult to even explain our circumstances. In training, we prepared in one way. This morning, Conor [Gallagher] says that he is not able to play so we need to change the players and positions.

"The moment is really strange and even more challenging to show who we are. The players were really amazing."

Tottenham had lost six games on the spin before this fixture — the worst streak in its history — but that run was always going to come to an end at some point.

"In attack, we tried something different," Tudor explained. "In this moment, it's difficult to work on an structure in attack so we try to simplify it, otherwise it can get more difficult.

"The style of football is what it is, and I think it's a good start. The team spirit was amazing. This was the main demand.

"The quality is there. Every point is crucial; we are just going game by game. We hope today is a turning point.

"In every club in the world, it is the same [as Tottenham] when there is not a good result. The change of coach gives 'hope' but the problem stays. The coach needs to solve the problem.

"Journalists like to ask these questions [about his future] but it doesn't make sense. The coaches are obliged to ask these questions, otherwise they like to stay at home. You insist with the same questions."

Tottenham faces Nottingham Forest next in a crucial relegation six-pointer. Liverpool has Brighton at the Amex Stadium next weekend before the international break.
