Il Giorno: €83m Man Utd striker joins Boniface and Vlahovic on Milan’s wish list

AC Milan are still looking for the right striker to go all-in for, and there are three names that stand out including a Manchester United man.

As Il Giorno report, Serie A is preparing to bid farewell to its top scorer. Mateo Retegui is close to flying to Saudi Arabia, enticed and seduced by the lucrative offer received from Al-Qadsiah, who turned to the Italian-Argentine striker after Moise Kean turned them down.

A four-year, €20m net per season deal is in the works for the striker, which would be yet another extraordinary capital gain for Atalanta. Indeed, Atalanta will net €60m plus bonuses from the sale of the former Tigre star, who was acquired 10 months ago from Genoa for €22m plus €3m in bonuses.

Not only does that mean one of Milan’s reported targets has now left the shop window, but Atalanta are now competition for a striker. Several names are on the Bergamo club’s radar, ranging from Lorenzo Lucca (Udinese) to Giacomo Raspadori (Napoli) to Daghim (Salzburg).

Milan looking at other names

In the meantime, Milan are also continuing their pursuit of a centre-forward. The spotlight is on Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus), who could become a low-cost option in the coming weeks.

Victor Boniface (Bayer Leverkusen) and Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United) are two alternative names that are being looked it, with asking prices that are yet to be discovered.

Hojlund is a relatively new name to enter the frame. He went to United in the 2023 summer transfer window for a figure of £72m including bonuses (€83m, via Sky) and has so far scored just 14 league goals for them across two seasons.

The paper adds that Rafael Leao, however, will not be on the market after an offer from Bayern Munich in the region of €60m was rejected. Instead, Allegri will build the attack with him as a leader.
