Inter 2-0 Milan Primavera: Renna’s boys fail to replicate first-team success

Milan Primavera suffered a disappointing defeat in their derby against Inter earlier this afternoon, conceding one goal in each half. 

After the first-team derby last weekend, in which Milan prevailed 1-0, it was time for the Primavera teams to square off today. The Rossoneri headed the game with decent confidence after the draw against Fiorentina last time out, but the Nerazzurri were the favourites (like the first teams).

Sure enough, while it was a pretty balanced game overall with chances for both sides, Inter came out on top after scoring a goal in each half. The first came in the 19th minute as Jamal Iddrissou got on the end of a free-kick, steering it past the goalkeeper Andrea Longoni.

Milan did okay after that and had some half-chances, but never really threatened enough to find the back of the net. In the first 20 minutes of the second half, the Rossoneri really pushed for an equaliser and had some good chances, but lacked the composure to make them count.

Instead, in the 89th minute, Inter sealed the deal through Matias Mancuso, who was first to a cross into the box. For Giovanni Renna and his boys, as such, it ended in a disappointing defeat and they will have to pick themselves up for the game against Hellas Verona.
