Inter coach Christian Chivu has praised the teams that are up there at the top of the Serie A table along with his side.
The Nerazzurri secured top spot for another round on Wednesday night, beating Parma 2-0 away from home thanks to goals from Federico Dimarco and Marcus Thuram. They have temporarily moved four points ahead of Milan, who play Genoa tonight at San Siro.
It is already looking like it could be a multi-team race for the Scudetto, even if there are still plenty of games to go and many points to be won. Napoli drew against Verona on Wednesday to set them back a bit, while Juventus and Roma both won on Tuesday to compact things further.
Chivu spoke after last night’s victory over Parma and he commented on the fact that things are very tight at the top of the standings, with MilanPress relaying what he had to say.
“The first half of the season isn’t over yet, with the rescheduled match against Lecce still to come. We’re aware of the importance of the match against Napoli. We’re halfway through the season, every game and every point is important, and we’re aware of this,” he said.
“Inter and Napoli are two teams with strong individual qualities and great intensity. They deserve praise, just like Milan, Juventus and Como. I also congratulate them, who are having a great season, like Roma.
“It’s the 90 minutes that bring growth and maturity to the team. On Sunday, two teams with important qualities will face each other, not just in Serie A.”
