‘Interest from some Italian clubs’ – Terzic responds to previous Milan and Juventus links

Edin Terzic has confirmed that some Italian clubs approached him about the head coach role, after previous links with AC Milan.

Terzic’s name was most strongly linked with Milan midway through last season when Paulo Fonseca was struggling and there was talk of him being sacked, which he was in the final days of 2024. There was talk that he actually turned the Rossoneri down.

The German-Croatian is one of the profiles that was evaluated by the Rossoneri, who in the end decided to go for Sergio Conceiçao. That didn’t exactly go to plan either, as he too left after a few months.

Terzic gave a lengthy interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he also commented on the rumours that he was close to taking over at Milan, Juventus and Roma. His response has been relayed by MilanNews.

“Respect for me is the most important thing for a coach, as is respect for my colleagues who coach. What I can say is that there has been interest from some Italian clubs, but I won’t say which ones.”

Terzic worked as a scout and assistant coach in the Borussia Dortmund academy when Jürgen Klopp was there. He got the full-time head coach job in 2022 and lasted two years, taking BVB to a Champions League final.
