‘It’s a great club’ – Everything Modric said on first day at AC Milan

4 days ago 62

This evening, Luka Modric completed his signing for AC Milan, and whilst he is yet to give a ‘proper’ interview, the midfielder has given a few messages.

The signing of Modric is a statement of intent from Milan. It is a message that the Milanese pull exists like it did before, even if the sporting side of the club is not as strong as it may have previously been. Nevertheless, the Croatian adds a bit of quality and leadership to the team, which is not a bad thing at all.

Arriving on a year deal, with the option to extend for another, it is difficult to find any negatives to this signing. Especially with his wage being heavily reasonable for his profile.

Modric’s words

We are still awaiting Modric’s first interview with the club. However, he has spoken here and there throughout the day. So, here is everything he said, and when.

After arriving at Milan Malpensa this morning, he gave a quick word to the media.

“I’m very happy to be here, great challenges await me.”

However, he also spoke on the club’s official pages, saying the following, as can be also seen below.

“Ciao everybody, I just landed in Milan. I’m very happy to be here, to start a new chapter in my career. A big heart to everyone.”

Between his medical and signing the deal, he spoke twice, shortly. First outside the medical centre, then at Casa Milan, as MilanNews relays.

“Forza Milan!”

“Why Milan? Because it’s a great club.”

It will be interesting to hear what is said in his first interview with the club, especially with what brought him to the Rossoneri.
