Jamie Carragher got the last laugh on Wednesday after being trolled by an Everton-supporting producer after Liverpool fell behind to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Following a run of four successive defeats, the Reds' game in Germany started in the worst possible fashion as an injury to Jeremie Frimpong was followed by Frankfurt opening the scoring through Rasmus Kristensen.
At that stage, Liverpool was facing the prospect of losing five games in a row for the first time since the 1950s, but thankfully for the Reds, by half-time the game had been well and truly turned on its head through goals from Hugo Ekitike, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
Carragher was in good spirits by that point, but he was looking rather low around 20 minutes earlier following Kristensen's opening goal.
The former Liverpool defender was appearing on CBS Sports' Champions League coverage, and lead presenter Kate Scott drew his attention to the reaction of one of the producers on the show after Frankfurt had taken the lead.
"If you follow our socials, you will know our friend Myles, keeps making special appearances on the show," Scott said. "When you (Carragher) were feeling a little glum because Liverpool had gone 1-0 down, we'd just like to show you this clip. Take a look in the background and see what you spot."
The clip showed Myles clenching his fist behind Carragher's head, with the Toffees fan clearly revelling in seeing the red team from Merseyside struggling once again.
Myles' celebrations were ultimately short-lived though, as Liverpool went on to lead 3-1 at half-time before ultimately winning the game 5-1.
Carragher said after the game that he was never in any doubt that Liverpool would win against a team that had conceded 18 goals in its previous five games.
"I thought they would win this, Frankfurt’s record defensively is really poor," Carragher said. “So even though it’s a great result, it’s something I expected Liverpool to get three or four goals.”
Florian Wirtz registered his first Champions League assists for his new club against Frankfurt, setting up Cody Gakpo and Dominik Szoboszlai in the second half, and Carragher was happy for the 22-year-old.
“I’m really pleased for this man," Carragher added. "Didn’t get on the scoresheet, but he’s got a couple of assists — that’s what he’s been brought in to the club for.
“What he was brought in to do was to create goals and score goals… The only disappointment was that he didn’t score tonight – and he should have if Mo Salah had passed to him at the end of the game.”
