Jarell Quansah decision on Liverpool future pays off with international recognition

Jarell Quansah has been handed his England debut, starting in the heart of the defense as Thomas Tuchel makes seven changes to the lineup that defeated Serbia on Thursday.

Quansah, a European Under-21 champion this summer, had been called up to five previous England squads under three different managers — Gareth Southgate, interim coach Lee Carsley, and Thomas Tuchel — but had yet to make his senior debut until now.

England head into Sunday’s match in Tirana with a perfect qualifying record, winning all seven games while scoring 20 goals and conceding none.

The Three Lions place at next year’s World Cup is already secured, and though Albania have not yet confirmed automatic qualification, its playoff spot is guaranteed.
