Finally, the Ardon Jashari transfer saga has ended and AC Milan can now enter a new chapter. Today, the midfielder spoke about the move and the future.
At points, the chase for Jashari got a little tiredsome. Milan were getting the midfielder, and then weren’t, and then were, and now, they have him. It is difficult to fully assess the situation on a level of who wins, but the base is clear.
Jashari wanted the move, and got it. The Rossoneri wanted the move, and got it.
So now, we can only look to the future. After signing a five year deal, after the extended chase, it is clear that the Diavolo have a lot of faith in Jashari and his potential for the future. The situation does not unfold like it did without it.
Jashari’s first words
So today, he sat down with MilanTV to discuss the move to Milan and MilanNews have relayed his words.
“It’s fantastic to be here after the last few weeks… I’ve finally arrived, and I’m truly proud to be part of this historic club. I want to bring this club and this team back to where they deserve to be: winning titles, winning matches. I’ll give it my all.”
You made it clear right away: you only wanted Milan, despite the many teams interested. Why did you choose this option?
“When I saw that Milan was interested, I felt proud, but it was the project they presented to me and my family. So when I decided I wanted to come to Milan, I gave my word: it’s always been a dream since I was a child. In my family and among my friends, Milan has always been talked about… The dream has come true.”
What kind of player are you? What are your strengths?
“Physically, I can make a significant impact. I can help in both phases of play, as well as provide the decisive assist in critical areas. I think these are my strengths that I can use to help the team.”
Are there any AC Milan players from the past who have inspired you?
“Definitely Roberto Baggio and Andrea Pirlo. I liked the way they played; technically they were really good. Their final passes, how creative they were… These are things I try to bring into my own game. So I’ll tell you about these two.”
You’ll play with Luka Modric…
“It’s a fantastic feeling. Starting my adventure here with an incredible player who has won so much can only help me. I want to learn a lot from him, listen to him, see how he is on and off the pitch.”

What do you think when you look at your new AC Milan shirt?
“To be honest, it’s really hard to put into words. It’s a fantastic feeling, it’s incredible to be part of this club. What can I say? I want to do my part to bring the club back to where it should be: I’ll give everything for these colors to bring it back to the top.”
Why the number 30 shirt?
“I started out wearing number 30 in Switzerland, at my youth club where I turned professional. I love Messi, so I took it because he also started out wearing it. It brought me luck in Switzerland and Belgium, so I wanted to keep it. I hope to make it a historic number.”
A message for AC Milan fans?
“Hi AC Milan fans, let’s go win!”
