Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has lauded Oliver Glasner's achievements at Crystal Palace, with the Austrian now emerging as a potential contender to replace Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.
The Portuguese boss Amorim has faced mounting criticism in recent weeks, with United securing merely two victories from the team's opening six Premier League games. Following the 2-1 triumph over Chelsea, there were hopes of establishing some momentum against Brentford - however, United was left shell-shocked in a 3-1 reverse.
The loss saw the club plummet to 14th position in the table and represented Amorim's 17th league defeat in merely 33 games. In contrast, Crystal Palace occupies third place in the standings and remains unbeaten in the top-flight this season.
Amorim continues to enjoy the support of United's hierarchy at present, with club insiders suggesting they are not considering potential successors.
However, Glasner, 51, was made the bookmakers' preferred choice to take over from Amorim.
Former Liverpool manager Klopp has been monitoring Glasner's remarkable progress at Selhurst Park closely, where the ex-Eintracht Frankfurt chief has steered the Eagles to FA Cup and Community Shield glory.
The German offered glowing praise for Glasner's work in London.
"Wow, they are doing miracles," Klopp told The Athletic.
Glasner's Palace inflicted a first defeat of the season on Klopp's former employer, Liverpool, at the weekend.
Klopp added: "A lot of things change.
"I don't have an opinion about that, really. The football I watch is mainly Red Bull teams.
"Do I sit there and say, 'What is football? How is it developing right now?' That's not really what I'm doing."
When quizzed by the Austrian press about rumours linking him to United, Glasner responded to Kicker: "I follow all the rumors – and that's all there is – neutrally and completely relaxed.
"Focusing on the daily work with my players and coaches, and trying to enjoy it as much as possible."
