‘Just a number’ – Lecce defender states Camarda ‘just needs to work’ on loan

AC Milan loaned Francesco Camarda to Lecce earlier this summer, and the Rossoneri are confident of the chances of success.

As much as it would be a fairytale to see Camarda develop under Massimiliano Allegri. It was not to be, and probably for good reason. Keeping the striker around would have been risking another six months, at least, which no one can afford.

Milan have a supremely talented player on their hands, but bringing him straight into the team puts too much pressure, which is not yet needed, onto his shoulders. He also may not be ready to be atop the mantelpiece just yet, too.

Positive words

So, a loan move was seen as the best option for this season. Despite a buy option being included, it certainly is not his Rossoneri career ending. Far from it. For now, though, the teaching has moved to another school. Kialonda Gaspar, a new teammate, has commented on his new surroundings to Sky Sport, via MilanNews.

“I think everyone here is ready to help the team. He’s very young, but for me that’s just a number because there are 40-year-old players who play like children. He just needs to work to improve every day in training. We need to help him and work 100%, so he can do it too. To help him in training, I need to come on strong so he’ll be ready for the match.”
