Juventus sporting director Marco Ottolini says there is no truth in speculation that the Italian side has made contact with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian is set to leave the Anfield side at the end of the season, with a return to Serie A one option that could be on the table for the 33-year-old. Salah previously played for AS Roma — interestingly, under the now Juve boss Luciano Spalletti — and Napoli and AC Milan have also been put forward as possible destinations for him in some quarters.

"What is being said about negotiations for Mohamed Salah is not true," Ottolini is quoted as telling 365Scores. "At the moment, there is absolutely nothing regarding that."

When Salah confirmed during the March international break that he was leaving a year before his Liverpool contract expires, his agent was quick to state that no decision had been made yet on where he would be going next.

Saudi Arabian clubs hold an interest in Salah, while he would also have options in MLS should be choose to move Stateside. A move elsewhere in the Premier League can be ruled out, but teams in Spain and France could come into the equation.

Andy Robertson, another very experienced player in the Liverpool locker room, is also leaving this summer. Tottenham is said to be the favorite to sign him, assuming it can escape relegation.

"They are legends of the club; they're amazing football players," Thiago Alcantara said recently. "It doesn't matter where they go. They will still be amazing football players."

When pressed on his thoughts on Salah's final season under Arne Slot, Thiago added: "I haven't been there, so I couldn't have an opinion about it, but Mo deserves the best."

Salah scored against Everton last weekend and Curtis Jones was delighted for his teammate when the final whistle came, with Virgil van Dijk netting a late winner.

"Mo is the best ever," Jones told Viaplay after the first derby at Hill Dickinson Stadium. "One of the best I’ve seen in my lifetime. One of the best I’ve played with.

"I've seen how hard he works behind the scenes. He takes care of himself. He’s a great athlete."

Salah could play a maximum of five more games for Liverpool before he departs. Liverpool has Crystal Palace at the weekend and then finishes the campaign with fixtures against Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Brentford.

Liverpool.com says: Juventus would be a decent move for Salah. Bernardo Silva and various others have also been linked with a move to play for the Old Lady, and it looks set for a revamp when the summer comes.

Salah is more than capable of playing at a Champions League club and he should be looking to avoid the Saudi Pro League for now, leaving that for later down the line.
