‘Kept telling you’ – Pellegatti tells Milan fans how Vlahovic got what he ‘wanted’

This summer, Dusan Vlahovic was the big name attached to AC Milan, and many hoped and dreamed that he would arrive. 

There is something about the idea of Vlahovic at Milan that made sense this summer. A need for a striker, a reset occurring, Massimiliano Allegri. However, he never arrived. Instead, he was always there, but never here.

The Serbian will now spend the next six or twelve months in Turin, surrounded by talk of his future, whilst Juventus reap the benefits of their striker, potentially for the last season. He could well have been a Rossonero, but it wasn’t to be.

‘Never at the top’

Perhaps, it was never meant to be, though. Talks throughout the summer never really picked up, and the Diavolo did not get the chance to ever really make a deal happen. Though Carlo Pellegatti claims that this was always the plan from the Juventus striker, as Pianeta Milan relays.

“Some say the 19 outfield players are too few; time will tell. Perhaps they could be enough for the league. They’ve been filling your head with Vlahovic for weeks. He was never at the top of AC Milan’s list. Vlahovic always wanted his contract with Juventus to expire.

“He wants to take this €12 million; he never wanted to go down, and AC Milan never gave him that. I’ve kept telling you not to get your hopes up. This is the only truth.”
