Kjaer talks up reported €40m Milan target: “He could play anywhere in Italy”

Simon Kjaer has suggested that Franculino would be a good signing for AC Milan, or any Serie A club for that matter.

A report from Tuttosport this morning claimed that Franculino is very much on Milan’s radar in their striker pursuit. The Guinea-Bissau international – who also holds a Portuguese passport – has also been linked with Bayern Munich after exploding onto the scene with Midtylland but could cost €40m.

It is easy to see why the links are growing, too. In this first part of the season, he has 19 goals and three assists in 27 games for the Danish outfit. This includes 14 goals in 15 Super League games, plus three in four in the Europa League, a tally he hopes to add to tonight.

Things that ‘can’t be learned’

Kjaer is now a director at Midtylland, and he spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport on the day of the Europa League match between the Danish side and Roma, another of his former clubs. He commented on Franculino, who has also been linked with the Giallorossi.

“Yes, Franculino is a striker who can play for any team. It might be early for Real Madrid, but he could play anywhere in Italy. I see things in him that can’t be learned; it’s instinct and talent: very, very good,” he said.
