Kostas Tsimikas nightmare as Roma star launches scathing attack on teammates

2 months ago 39

Paulo Dybala has delivered a withering critique of his Roma teammates, branding them as overly "weak."

That's not good news for Kostas Tsimikas, who is currently completing a season-long loan spell at Roma. The Greek left-back, 29, was allowed to leave Anfield on a temporary basis following Milos Kerkez's arrival from Bournemouth. Club legend Andy Robertson is also still on the books at Liverpool, becoming the back-up behind Kerkez this season.

Roma finds itself in turmoil, having dropped its previous two European encounters to Lille away and Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen at home. And Dybala, who won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina, is not happy with his teammates.

Dybala declared: "We were too sluggish during the game and too weak, and it's not the first time this season either. If we play like that, we won't win many games, especially in Europe.

"We continue to struggle to score, and we created even less than we have done in some matches in Europe.

"We obviously underestimated Viktoria Plzen. They ran a lot and worked harder than we did.

"What I have said is the truth. We now have the next match at Rangers at a difficult venue.

"The fact is, if we do not pick it up, we are going out of the tournament.

"We have to keep fighting as we have been doing in Serie A."

Roma is currently fourth in Serie A after winning five of its first seven league games this season, sitting just two points behind leader AC Milan.

Yet Tsimikas and his teammates suffered a 1-0 home loss to Inter Milan in their most recent league fixture.

Although Roma isn't doing too badly in Serie A, the Europa League table makes for grim reading.

Roma is 23rd in the standings, having picked up just three points from its first three European games this season.

Tsimikas, meanwhile, isn't having the best of times at Roma. The Liverpool defender was left on the bench for Roma's last two games against Inter Milan and Viktoria Plzen.
