Marco Landucci believes that AC Milan have a responsibility to try and win the Coppa Italia, given the lack of European football.
Massimiliano Allegri will once again send his assistant to take charge in the dug-out as Milan welcome Lecce to San Siro in the round of 32 of the cup. The winner will progress to face Lazio in the last-16, but Allegri will have to serve the second game of a two-match suspension tonight.
He still named the team of course, and has gone for six changes to the starting line-up from the team that won 3-0 against Udinese at the weekend. There will be big chances for the likes of Koni De Winter, Davide Bartesaghi, Samuele Ricci and Christopher Nkunku to show what they can do.
Landucci spoke to Mediaset not long before kick-off in tonight’s game at San Siro and he previewed the task at hand, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.
“This year we have the league and the Coppa Italia, which is very important. When Milan take to the field, they must aim to do things well in every match. There are no easy games, we’ll have to work hard, but I’m sure the lads will put in a great performance,” he said.
“We’ve created a good rapport with everyone, there’s a great harmony in the dressing room. In football, matches count, but all the conditions are in place to do well. We’re just starting out. We need to stay low-key with humility and play good games.”
