Rafael Leao was full of praise for the fans at San Siro after the atmosphere created during the win over Napoli on Sunday.
Having a full home stadium has given Milan an advantage in recent years, but 2025-26 had been a bit different. Due to the Curva Sud’s protests regarding their treatment by the club and the authorities, it has been very quiet during the games.
This has led to the atmosphere at Rossoneri home matches being likened to a funeral. However, the Ultras announced that they would be back in the stands for the match against the champions and indeed they were.
Of course games are won on the field, but there is no doubting that the squad feel the impact of having 70,000 fans behind them, chanting and singing when a man down and with backs to the wall.
‘The difference it makes’
Leao did a Twitch stream last night in which he answered some questions from fans and one of them was about the return of the Curva Sud at the weekend.
“Every time we play at San Siro, everyone has to feel the rage and energy from the fans. The new players already understand the difference it makes here. Even when we’re tired, the support pushes us until the end. Thank you — this year we want to achieve something really important.”
