Lecce 1-2 Milan Primavera: Lontani brace secures debut win for Renna

Milan Primavera began their season in the best possible way, scoring twice in quick succession in the second half to beat Lecce.

After a first half in which the home side dominated, the Rossoneri came alive in the second half, scoring twice in a matter of minutes thanks to a brace from Simone Lontani. The first came via a header in the 58th minute, then eight minutes later he doubled his tally.

Giovanni Renna’s team came close to making it 3-0 on several occasions and probably should have killed the game off earlier. Then, in the 82nd minute, the Giallorossi scored, capitalising on a mistake by Colombo and reducing the deficit through Milojevic.

From then on, Lecce began to push hard and came close to equalising several times, particularly in the 93rd minute when only a great goal line clearance from Piermarini saved the result and allowed the Rossoneri to take home the three points.

It is certainly the best start that Renna could have hoped for after stepping up from his previous position as the head coach of the U17 team to replace Federico Guidi, who returned to Roma.
