Liam Rosenior has left Chelsea less than 24 hours after the defeat to Brighton in the Premier League.
The Blues confirmed the news on Wednesday evening that they had parted company with Rosenior, with Calum McFarlane placed in caretaker charge.
McFarlane has already served as interim boss at Chelsea this season, overseeing the spell following Enzo Maresca’s departure back in January.
The decision from Chelsea comes after Rosenior publicly criticised the Chelsea players following the defeat to Brighton at the Amex Stadium, a result which leaves the club seventh in the Premier League table.
Chelsea will now prepare for their next match, which will see them face Leeds United in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley Stadium this weekend.
