The transfer window might have closed, and January might still be more than three months away, but that doesn’t stop the speculation - no matter how ridiculous it might be.
After a busy summer in which it broke the Premier League transfer record twice for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, Liverpool has had more than its fair share of rumors in recent months, and no doubt there will be plenty more before the January window opens in the New Year.
A lot of those will no doubt revolve around Marc Guehi after his move from Crystal Palace collapsed on deadline day, especially now with Giovanni Leoni likely to miss the remainder of the season. Arne Slot though has suggested the Reds won’t be looking to add to their squad before next summer.
That won’t stop the rumors though, and the latest coming out of Spain makes for some unbelievable reading.
According to Fichajes, both Liverpool and Arsenal have been alerted to the potential availability of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr.
The Brazilian international is under contract at the Bernabeu until 2027, although it’s suggested that attempts to sign him to a new deal could be in danger.
Vinicius and Real are said to be on different pages in regard to his financial demands, and it’s claimed that he could consider leaving the club next summer if a resolution can’t be found.
A new contract worth around $23 million (€20M) a year was reportedly offered recently, but Vinicius and his agent are said to be seeking bonuses that could raise the figure to almost $35 million (€30M).
The report also claims that the 25-year-old is frustrated with the way he is being utilized by new manager Xabi Alonso, having only completed a full 90 minutes in La Liga once so far this season.

With that in mind, both Liverpool and Arsenal are said to have been informed about Vinicius’ potential availability, with the report citing claims from TBR Football earlier this week. Neither club is said to have made a formal offer yet though, with both monitoring his situation.
However, Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Vinicius is still happy at Real and wants to sign a new contract with the Spanish giants.
Liverpool.com says: Some rumors are just too good to be true - and that’s often because they are.
There’s just no way Liverpool or Arsenal sign Vinicius, is there? For starters, his wages would be astronomical, and it’s not like Real would let him go cheaply either. Basically, don’t get your hopes up.
