Liverpool confirms shirt numbers for Florian Wirtz and 5 new signings vs Preston

Liverpool has confirmed its summer signings will wear temporary squad numbers for the first pre-season match against Preston North End on Sunday.

The Reds will take to the field at Deepdale against the Championship side, in what is the first match since the tragic passing of forward Diogo Jota.

The encounter will also give Liverpool fans a chance to watch the likes of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong in action for the first time. But the new recruits will not wear their official squad numbers for the match.

Instead Liverpool has confirmed its six additions will wear temporary numbers on the back of their jerseys, while the Premier League and Champions League squad lists are finalized.
