Marc Guehi remains a top target for Liverpool but there are no guarantees that he will end up at Anfield, and the Reds may have to consider alternatives

Liverpool has four other center-backs on its transfer shortlist in the event of the Reds missing out on a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
Guehi almost joined Liverpool during the summer transfer window, only for Palace to pull the plug on the deal just hours after accepting an offer from the Reds.
Palace boss Oliver Glasner was concerned that Guehi's departure would leave him short of defensive options, prompting Palace to block the move.
Guehi remains a defender in demand, and Liverpool is expected to attempt to sign him in 2026, but the club will not have the free run at the Palace captain that it appeared to have last summer.

The Daily Mail says that Palace defender Maxence Lacroix is viewed as a possible option should a move for Guehi not come off, while Brentford's Nathan Collins is also among Liverpool's targets.
The two other players that are said to be of interest are Joel Ordonez of Club Brugge, and Celta Vigo's Oscar Mingueza.

Guehi is expected to remain at Palace until the end of the season, despite the possibility of him being available for a cut-price fee during the January transfer window.
Guehi's contract at Palace will expire on June 30, when he will be free to join another club on a free transfer, while he will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of the English league system from New Year's Day.
The BBC reports that as well as Real Madrid – Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are also said to have registered varying levels of interest in the 25-year-old.
Liverpool could do with a new center-back in January, with Giovanni Leoni and Joe Gomez both currently sidelined through injury, but it doesn't seem as though Guehi will be an option next month.
Another player who Liverpool seems unlikely to sign in January is Antoine Semenyo. He has reportedly decided on joining Manchester City next month, with the Etihad Stadium club having until January 10 to trigger a £65 million ($88 million) release clause in the forward's Bournemouth contract.
