Liverpool discovers Alexander Isak's correct value after $166M investment

1 week ago 8

Alexander Isak's market value has seen the most significant increase globally since the beginning of 2025, it has been reported.

The 26-year-old joined Liverpool from Newcastle in a record-breaking £125 million ($166.6 million) transfer on deadline day. Since his arrival at Anfield, Isak has found the back of the net once in eight appearances. His first goal for the Reds came during the Carabao Cup third round tie against Southampton last month.

Despite not setting the world on fire since his move to Liverpool, Isak's value has soared, as per SportingPedia's recent report. At the start of the year, Isak's market value was pegged at £65million, but following a goal-laden second half of the season at Newcastle, he is now valued at £121.6 million ($162.1 million).

This represents a staggering £56.6 million ($75.4 million) increase - the highest of any player worldwide in the past 10 months.

Bayern Munich's Michael Olise is second, with his value rising from £56.5 million ($75.3 million) to £113 million ($150.6 million).

Meanwhile, Nick Woltemade, who replaced Isak at Newcastle, is third and has seen his value jump from a mere £7 million ($9.3 million) to £56.5 million ($75.3 million).

Isak and Hugo Ekitike are both vying for the Liverpool center-forward position

Isak and Hugo Ekitike are both vying for the Liverpool center-forward position

Real Madrid's Dean Huijsen and Paris Saint-Germain pair Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele are next in line, with Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike ranking seventh.

The French international has made quite an impression since his move from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Reds in July, scoring six times in 12 appearances.

Ekitike kicked off 2025 with a market value of £34.8 million ($46.4 million), but after a fruitful second half of the season at Frankfurt, he secured a high-profile move to Liverpool and saw his value skyrocket.

In fact, Ekitike is now valued at £73.9 million ($98.5 million) - more than the initial amount the Reds paid to Frankfurt three months prior.

Isak and Ekitike are two of three Liverpool players in the top 14 for market value increases. The third Red on the list is midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who has experienced a resurgence under Arne Slot.

Dutch star Gravenberch started the year with a value of £47.8 million ($63.7 million), but he has since seen his value climb to £78.2 million ($104.2 million).

Despite Liverpool signing Isak for more than his reported market value, the others - most notably Gravenberch - have seen their prices surge during their tenure at the Reds.

Slot's players are next up when they travel to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday. They clinched a much-needed 5-1 victory at Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday to halt their four-game losing streak.
