Paris Saint-Germain could welcome back key attacker Bradley Barcola for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed another superb campaign in the French capital and, prior to last week’s quarterfinal first leg at the Parc des Princes, had not missed a single Champions League match this season.
But Barcola suffered an ankle sprain in the last-16 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, which has kept him out of the side for four weeks. He trained ahead of last week’s match against Liverpool but was deemed not ready to make his return to the squad. However, that could come at Anfield on Tuesday, with Barcola named in the traveling squad that flew to Merseyside.

“We are going to have to see after training,” Luis Enrique said ahead of the quarterfinal tie. “Each time we have a player coming back from injury, it’s always good news.
“He’s been out three weeks and has been working hard to get back, and we’ll have to see how he’s feeling today. It’s important for us to get players back.”

Barcola was linked with a summer move to Liverpool, but the club’s eagerness to provide a pathway for Rio Ngumoha’s development meant it opted against signing another winger.
Barcola has also been mentioned among the catalog of names to potentially replace Mohamed Salah this year. The French international would tick all the required boxes for FSG’s transfer honchos.
He’s the right side of 25, experienced at Champions League level, and an established French international.
Barcola played a pivotal role in PSG’s successful 2024/45 campaign, featuring in a remarkable 64 games as the Parisians won the Champions League, Ligue 1 and lost in the Club World Cup final.
This term, the former Lyon star has played 38 times, providing 12 goals and six assists.
In what could be a tight second leg, Liverpool will hope that his return to the PSG ranks will not prove decisive.
It also means the European champions are without just two players - Fabian Ruiz and Quentin Ndjantou - for the second leg.
As for Liverpool, Alisson, Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Wataru Endo are all missing through injury.
