Denzel Dumfries was reportedly left frustrated after a possible transfer to Liverpool during the January transfer window failed to materialize.
Dumfries continues to be linked with a move to Anfield ahead of the summer transfer window, when a €25 million ($29 million) release clause in his Inter contract will become active.
Aged 30, Dumfries is older than the players that Liverpool usually targets, but the Reds could benefit from adding some experience to the squad in a summer that will see vice-captain Andy Robertson depart as well as Salah.

Dumfries is now said to have given his father, Boris, full control of negotiating his next move, having severed ties with the agency that previously represented him.
Dumfries has tasked his father with securing a move to the Premier League this summer, and his destination could be Liverpool.
Dumfries is good friends with fellow Dutchman Virgil van Dijk, and Liverpool could benefit from added depth on the right side of the pitch due to the fitness issues that the Reds have suffered in that area of the pitch this season.

Jeremie Frimpong, Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley have all had spells on the sidelines this season, and Curtis Jones was used at right-back for the Merseyside derby.
Jones produced a man-of-the-match display at Hill Dickinson Arena, but he is unlikely to be a long-term solution at right-back.
There have been some recent suggestions that Jones could leave Liverpool this summer in search of regular game time.

Arne Slot addressed a question about Jones's game time during a press conference on Friday.
"Since I am the manager he plays much more minutes than he ever did before," Slot said. "That's down to me liking the player and the fact our squad has become smaller, mainly because of injuries.
"That means the same players have to share the playing time because we went to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the FA Cup. If you have a lot of injuries, then in the top 25 there are five or six players of ours with the most minutes played."
