Galatasaray has received a significant lift ahead of the team's encounter with Liverpool.

The Turkish powerhouse will welcome Arne Slot and his players to RAMS Park on Tuesday for a Champions League game. Following Galatasaray's 1-0 triumph over Alanyaspor on Friday, the team's manager, Okan Buruk, addressed journalists and offered an insight into Victor Osimhen's condition after the striker made a short appearance from the substitutes' bench.

The Nigerian forward has been managing an ankle problem sustained during a World Cup qualifying game against Rwanda earlier this month. "We wanted to play him for 10 minutes today. We wanted him to experience the pain," remarked Buruk, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.

"Sometimes there's pain, and it's important to [play] through pain.

"He's not 100 percent physically ready. He hasn't had a team training session since returning from the national team. He played with us briefly yesterday (on Thursday).

"We'll assess his pain and physical condition before thinking about the next match.

"Baris might have wanted a winger there when he came off today, but I specifically brought Osimhen on so he could play 10 minutes, have a chance to play the next match, and contribute to us."

Regarding ensuring Osimhen's availability against Liverpool, Buruk commented: "We may have changed our formation and had trouble covering the opposition.

"However we're taking these risks to ensure he plays."

Eintracht Frankfurt made a storming comeback against Galatasaray in the opening week of the new Champions League season, overturning an early deficit to secure a 5-1 victory.

Yunus Akgun put the Super Lig champion in the lead within the first 10 minutes following a swift counterattack.

However, around half an hour later, Davinson Sanchez inadvertently levelled the score with an own goal.

Suddenly, the tide turned at Deutsche Bank Park, and Frankfurt netted twice just before the halftime whistle.

The German side added two more goals after the interval, securing three vital points.

This victory propelled Frankfurt to the top of the 'league phase' - while Galatasaray plummeted to second from bottom.
