Liverpool will welcome back Dominik Szoboszlai when it takes on Leeds United after the Hungarian missed the win over Wolves through suspension, but several others will be missing through injury.

Alexander Isak, of course, it set to be sidelined for a few months with a broken leg. Hugo Ekitike has been in good form lately, but the Frenchman will need to stay fit and continue that while the Swede is absent.

Elsewhere, Giovanni Leoni will miss the remainder of the season with his ACL injury, Mohamed Salah is currently at AFCON with Egypt, and Wataru Endo has an ankle issue.

Cody Gakpo and Conor Bradley both returned from injuries against Wolves and could be in contention to start against Leeds United, while Joe Gomez could be back too.

Gomez, Arne Slot said ahead of the Wolves game, was not ready for that one, but wasn't far away. He was then spotted in the gym working alongside some of his teammates.

That totals a maximum of five players that Slot could be without against Leeds (Isak, Leoni, Salah, Endo and Gomez), with Szoboszlai making his return.

Liverpool will be hoping to make its life easier than it did against Wolves, when Santiago Bueno's goal caused some panic in the second half at Anfield.

"I think if you go 2-0 up at half-time, you're expecting a different second half than we had to face," Slot said. "But in football a goal can massively change momentum.

"That's why I was so, so, so annoyed when the goal at [Manchester] City was disallowed because we were struggling in that game — probably just as much as Wolves were struggling today — but then a goal can make a lot of difference.

"That's what you saw today — not that after the 2-1 we didn't have ball possession anymore, but it was much more of an equal game.

"Of course you're frightened every time when they do arrive, especially when he brought another big man in, with the crosses they gave.

"But I don't think we conceded a lot of big chances. I think the first big chance we conceded was, again, a goal — not for the first time this season.

"But for the rest, I saw a team that was fighting to get the win over the line — not with the best possible football but there was a proper fight. And a bit better than last week [in] the last 10 minutes. That wasn't too difficult, by the way!"
