Liverpool dropped more points in the race for the Champions League places, this time against Tottenham, but Alexander Isak could provide a boost in a few weeks' time

Liverpool has just four players sidelined through injury at the moment, though three of those will not play again this season and Alexander Isak is still working his way back from a broken leg.
Arne Slot's men dropped two points at home to struggling Tottenham over the weekend, with Richarlison popping up with a late goal — the eighth time the Reds have conceded in second-half stoppage time in the Premier League this season — but the number of absences can only be in a very minor part to blame for the recent inconsistency.
Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni are all long-term absentees. Each of them are aiming for a return in the summer having undergone surgery on their various issues.

The Swede is yet to get going at all since his $169 million (£125 million) transfer to Anfield last summer.
Arne Slot explained last week that Isak is not yet back training with the team. His rehab is still ongoing as he gets himself back into shape to play a part in the run-in.
"If you ask me now, I would say I don’t expect [Isak to go on duty with Sweden], but we are still one and a half weeks off," Slot said. "There is always co-operation between club and country, but I don’t expect him to play for us before that."

The Liverpool boss also issued a warning about what Isak might look like when he does return. Before the broken leg, he was completely disrupted by missing last summer's pre-season.
"Again, I have to mess up the party," Slot said. "Let’s say [he comes back] at the beginning of April, he has been out for three and a half months and not trained with the team for three and a half months. The last time he did that, it took him a while to get up to speed.
"I am really, really looking forward to having him back but don’t get the expectations again so high that the minute he is on the pitch, he is at the level of what we spent that money on."
Liverpool hasn't really had that many injuries, certainly in comparison to some Premier League teams. But there is no doubt that the Reds' squad has looked stretched.

"We constantly felt we had to do it with 12-13 players," Slot said. "It is always a boost for a team to have everyone available.
"Look at the recent PSG game (against Chelsea in the Champions League), when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia came in 30 or so minutes from the end and scored twice.
"I think Pep Guardiola said as well, how important it is to have your players available because this is such a hard league, we don’t have a winter break and there are so many games.
"I don’t think there are many clubs in the history of this league who have had a lot of injuries and performed as expected. That is harder in this league than any other league in the world, as you have so many games at a high level."
