After it lost 3-2 against Brentford this weekend, Liverpool must attempt to bounce back again in the Premier League when it plays Aston Villa on Saturday.
But before then, it has the visit of Crystal Palace in the League Cup to think about midweek, when Arne Slot could make plenty of changes, just as he did in the last round against Southampton.
With several injury issues, however, some of those who were involved in round three won't be available for selection. Liverpool lost Curtis Jones to injury at Brentford, for instance, and the extent of that problem remains to be seen.
Slot has quite a few issues to contend with at the moment, which isn't helping his cause when it comes to fixing the problems that the Reds have to solve.
Jones was just the latest player to go down on Saturday, with Alexander Isak and Ryan Gravenberch both absent from that match entirely. Neither made the matchday squad.
Isak, Slot said on Friday, would not be out for long. Gravenberch has an ankle knock that is likely to be similarly minor, though it would be a surprise to see him midweek and no risks will be taken.
Jeremie Frimpong is set to be out for a few weeks, in all likelihood, with a hamstring injury. The right-back has had a few troubles with injuries already in his Liverpool career.
Giovanni Leoni is a long-term absentee while there is no set date yet for when Alisson Becker will be back. He was spotted training alone last week.
As a result, Freddie Woodman could come into the Liverpool starting XI ahead of Giorgi Mamardashvili, with the Georgian essentially the number one at the moment.
Playing him in the cup would be a risk for more important games to come.

While Crystal Palace has caused Liverpool some problems in the recent past, it too has had a downturn in form in recent weeks.
Since beating the Reds at Selhurst Park, Oliver Glasner's side has lost at Everton, drawn with Bournemouth, and then lost to AEK Larnaca in the Europa League and 1-0 at Arsenal, where Eberechi Eze netted against his former club.
Liverpool.com says: Isak and Gravenberch won't be missing for long and hopefully the issue that Jones picked up will prove to be similarly minor. As he searches for solutions to the current malaise, Slot needs as many players available as possible.
