Arne Slot and his staff will be keeping their fingers crossed that they don’t receive any more bad news during the international break.
The majority of Liverpool’s senior squad has jetted off across the world for the final international window of 2025, with places at next year’s World Cup up for grabs for some of them. More importantly for Slot, he’ll be hoping they stay fit over the next week.
The Reds boss will already be watching on a little nervously with Alexander Isak having linked up with his Sweden teammates, despite only recently returning to training for his club. As long as he and others stay fit though, Liverpool could be getting closer to its strongest team upon its return.
Here is the latest on the injury front as the international break begins…
Alisson Becker
Alisson looks as though he is nearing his return and may be in contention to return against Nottingham Forest on November 22 following the international break.
The goalkeeper has been out since picking up a hamstring injury against Galatasaray at the end of September, but has been spotted at the AXA Training Centre recently. All being well, he should be back in the side very soon.
Possible return date: November 22 vs Nottingham Forest
Jeremie Frimpong
Jeremie Frimpong's return is expected to take a little longer, with the Netherlands international having also picked up a hamstring problem against Eintracht Frankfurt last month.
Given that occurred a few weeks after Alisson's injury, it'd be safe to assume Liverpool will have to wait until at least some time in December for the right-back to be back in contention, and even then, he may need to be eased back in a bit more than a goalkeeper.
Possible return date: December
Giovanni Leoni
One thing is certain with Giovanni Leoni's injury - we won't be seeing him again this season.
The young Italian's ACL injury came as a cruel blow on his Anfield debut, and having needed to undergo surgery, he definitely won't be playing again in the current campaign.
Possible return date: 2026/27 season
Stefan Bajcetic
Stefan Bajcetic has had such little luck when it comes to injuries since he made his breakthrough during the 2022/23 season. What looked to have been such a promising career has been put on hold for a long time now, leaving some doubts about his future at Anfield.
Fortunately, the 21-year-old has been back out on the grass in training following surgery in the summer, and the next step for him will likely be minutes with the U21s, although the club will have to remain patient with him given his recent injury record.

Jayden Danns
Jayden Danns has been equally unlucky when it comes to injuries over the last year or so. A potential loan move last summer never materialized, and although he secured a temporary switch to Sunderland a few months later, he was unable to make a single appearance for the Black Cats.
Just a couple of months into the current season, injury struck again, and it has been suggested that Danns will miss the remainder of 2025 through his hamstring problem. The Daily Mail has reported that the striker is in good spirits, although U21s boss Rob Page was unable to give a potential return date when asked recently.
