Rush, who holds the record for the most goals scored for Liverpool, is believed to have been hit by a particularly severe strain of flu before being hospitalized.

During his remarkable stint with the Reds, he found the net a staggering 346 times across all competitions.

Rush also holds the title of Wales' second-highest goalscorer, trailing only Gareth Bale, with 28 goals in 73 international caps. He racked up nearly 400 domestic goals over an exceptional career that kicked off at Chester City.
