Liverpool won in the Premier League for the first time since September 20 as Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch netted in a 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

The Reds were in 10th place when the game kicked off, but so congested is the top half of the table, three points were enough to take Arne Slot's men up to third.

Salah's goal first-half strike moved him onto 250 goals for the Reds — a landmark only previously reached by Ian Rush and Roger Hunt.

"It's a great feeling to score goals for such a big club," the Egyptian said. "It's something I don't take for granted, I'm so proud and happy about that achievement."
