Liverpool has now won back-to-back games and kept back-to-back clean sheets, following up the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League with a 1-0 win against Real Madrid.
Alexis Mac Allister was the man to finally get the better of Thibaut Courtois, with Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk among those to have drawn saves from the Belgian before the deadlock was broken.
Right-back Conor Bradley was exceptional and Hugo Ekitike impressed too, with Arne Slot's men putting in their best performance of the season to date, building further on the strong showing from the weekend.
Florian Wirtz came into the team on the left and did well, while Ryan Gravenberch and Andy Robertson were typically solid. All in all, it was a very positive night for all involved — at least from a Liverpool perspective.
Trent Alexander-Arnold would have been expecting a rough reception, and that's exactly what he got. Xabi Alonso brushed that off post-match but admitted that Liverpool was the worthy winner.
We’ll bring you updates throughout the day as the reaction comes in, and attention begins to turn to the trip to Manchester City on Sunday.

Van Dijk and Rooney's awkward meeting
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk and Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney came face-to-face in an uncomfortable television interview after the Merseyside giant had beaten Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Rooney has been in a war of words with the Reds skipper recently, with Liverpool enduring a difficult spell during the early stages of the campaign.
Liverpool was back at its scintillating best on Tuesday evening, though, as it delivered a remarkable performance to overcome Real Madrid at Anfield. Alexis Mac Allister nodded home the decisive goal just after the hour mark after connecting with a cross from Dominik Szoboszlai.
Van Dijk played down Rooney's criticism to some degree, before the ex-England ace made a joke. "I'm not saying anything," he laughed. "I think I spurred them on and put them on a winning streak..."
