It may seem a bit unnecessary at the moment to compare Liverpool's upcoming fixtures to Arsenal's and Manchester City's, but it will only take one or two good results for the narrative on the Reds' season to change.
Arne Slot is currently going through by far his toughest spell since becoming the Reds' head coach a year ago, with the team having lost four games in a row in the Premier League.
Arsenal's 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Sunday leaves the Gunners four points clear of Bournemouth in second and seven points ahead of the Reds in sixth. City, meanwhile, is fourth in the table - just one point ahead of Liverpool - after losing 1-0 to Aston Villa on Sunday.
But it's far too early to write Liverpool off in the title race, though, so let's take a look at how the team's upcoming run of games compares to Arsenal's and City's runs in the coming weeks.
Liverpool
- Aston Villa (h) - November 1
- Manchester City (a) - November 9
- Nottingham Forest (h) - November 22
- West Ham (a) - November 30
- Sunderland (h) - December 3
Villa and City are two of the Premier League's form teams right now, so it doesn't get any easier for Arne Slot's men, but games against Nottingham Forest and West Ham look a lot more winnable.
Sunderland at home at the start of December would've looked like a gimme at the start of the season, but the Black Cats are flying at the moment.
Arsenal
- Burnley (a) - November 1
- Sunderland (a) - November 8
- Tottenham (h) - November 23
- Chelsea (a) - November 30
- Brentford (h) - December 3
It's ominous for the chasing pack that Arsenal is at the top of the table after a very tricky run of fixtures to start the season.
Newly promoted sides Burnley and Sunderland are next up, but they may not be easy assignments.
There are three successive London derbies after those two games, and the first two in particular – against Tottenham and Chelsea – will say a lot about Arsenal's title credentials.
Manchester City
- Bournemouth (h) - November 2
- Liverpool (h) - November 9
- Newcastle (a) - November 22
- Leeds (h) - November 29
- Fulham (a) - December 2
City looks to be on the comeback trail after a couple of disappointing losses earlier in the season, but successive home games against Bournemouth and Liverpool could be tricky.
Newcastle away has been a tricky assignment for City in recent years, but Pep Guardiola's men will expect to collect maximum points against Leeds and Fulham.
