With potentially no fit striker set to feature against Arsenal, Arne Slot will be forced into an unorthodox selection for the second game in a row, while he has a decision to make on the right flank

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot insisted ahead of Thursday’s trip to Arsenal that he is happy with the squad he has at his disposal following the return of several players from injury in recent weeks.
Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Cody Gakpo have all overcome injury issues of late and Slot claimed in his pre-match press conference that despite the disappointing performances, he has seen evidence of “how talented this group is”.
However, there is one significant injury Slot must contend with. Hugo Ekitike remains a doubt for the game following the muscle injury he sustained last week that prevented him from playing against Fulham.

That he was asked in an interview with Liverpool’s internal media team about playing up front against Fulham, perhaps provides a hint he could do the same at the Emirates on Thursday.
“I enjoyed it,” said the Dutchman. “It was a long time ago for me that I played there.
“It was good. I can do whatever the team asks me to do and I will do whatever I can to be the best version of myself and to try to help the team as much as I can.”

Gakpo’s selection through the middle could see Florian Wirtz continue on the left wing, but there is a decision to make on the opposition flank.
Jeremie Frimpong put in another impressive performance off the bench at Craven Cottage, providing Gakpo’s late equalizer, and could be in line to start against Arsenal.
That would involve Dominik Szoboszlai moving inside, and one of the midfield three of Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones dropping to the bench.

The defense of Bradley, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Milos Kerkez is expected to continue against Arsenal, with Alisson almost certain to remain in nets.
Despite Slot’s pre-match comments, he doesn’t have much to call upon from the bench, a fact he actually bemoaned after the weekend draw against Fulham.
Andy Robertson, Federico Chiesa and Rio Ngumoha are expected to be named among the substitutes.
Liverpool predicted line-up: Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Jones; Frimpong, Szoboszlai, Wirtz; Gakpo.
