Liverpool receives mixed injury update on Alexander Isak and Curtis Jones ahead of Real Madrid

7 hours ago 3

Liverpool received mixed news on Monday, with Curtis Jones returning to training ahead of the Champions League encounter against Real Madrid, however Alexander Isak was not involved in the session.

Isak has missed the last three games following a groin injury he sustained in the victory over Eintracht Frankfurt two weeks ago, with Hugo Ekitike starting both Premier League matches in his absence.

As for Jones, he picked a knock in the defeat at Brentford nine days ago, and sat out the Crystal Palace and Aston Villa matches last week.

Arne Slot described the pair as 99.9 percent likely to Saturday's game against Villa, but Ryan Gravenberch did return following a recent knock.

Slot also said he is hopeful the ex-Bayern Munich man will be available to start against Real on Tuesday.

Gravenberch was involved in Monday's session at Liverpool's AXA Training Centre, with Alisson, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leno the only senior players missing.
