Liverpool rivals sent 'good luck' message with clear verdict on Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak

Liverpool should have no concerns regarding its early-season form under Arne Slot, with the new signings — brought in for around $600M, but offset by significant sales to recoup around half that sum — set to come good.

That is the view of soccer pundit Dion Dublin, who scored 111 goals in 312 Premier League appearances during his career, including at Coventry City and Aston Villa. Liverpool beat the Villans over the weekend and then followed that up with a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League, and face Manchester City next.

"It's hard to criticize Liverpool. They've just got such a brilliant squad," Dublin told Liverpool.com. "Those two players... Hugo Ekitike is doing a little bit more because he is having more time on the pitch, but Alexander Isak will come good.

"And to have those two players — what a choice. When you look over your shoulder and you have one of them on the bench, it is just brilliant.

"You can play them both together as well, if that works, and they are going to be even more potent. I've got no worries about Liverpool whatsoever."

On Tuesday, Florian Wirtz excelled off the left and Arne Slot found the right balance in his Liverpool attack.

"Wirtz, I think he will be a success," Dublin said. "All these players, they haven't got the time on the pitch yet. When they have the time on the pitch, you will be able to see their quality.

"Now Mo Salah is playing well, Liverpool are going to play well again. Good luck to the rest of the teams!"

Dublin was speaking at the North West Football Awards, where Slot was named Manager of the Season after he won the Premier League title in his first campaign with the Reds.

"It's an honor to win this award, especially as I haven't been so long in the north west of England," Slot said in a pre-recorded video message that was played at the event.

"I know how much history this part of England has when it comes to great football clubs and great managers working for these clubs.

"So, to win an award like this is of course very special to me. But as I always say, it's definitely not only about me, it's about the whole coaching staff I work with, that have helped me to achieve what we achieved last season.

"And not only the coaching staff, everyone that contributed to us doing something special deserves a big thank you from me."

Liverpool Women star Ceri Holland was voted by fans as the PFA Barclays WSL & WSL2 Community Champion, recognizing her commitment to supporting LFC Foundation initiatives.

The LFC Foundation won the Premier League Community Club of the Season accolade, while Paul Kelly, the lead physiotherapist at the club's academy, was presented with the Fabrice Muamba Award for Outstanding Services to Football Medicine and Performance.

This year's ceremony also carried extra significance as the Women's Manager of the Season award was renamed in memory of Matt Beard, reflecting his extraordinary impact on women's football.

Beard passed away in September at the age of 47, and his brother, Mark, presented the award to Marc Skinner of Manchester United.
