Liverpool has slipped eight points behind Arsenal in the Premier League title race after being thumped 3-0 by Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's players eased to a commanding victory at the Etihad on Sunday after two VAR decisions went against Liverpool during the first half. Erling Haaland - who missed an early penalty - Nico Gonzalez and Jeremy Doku all found the net for City. The result means there are just four points separating Arsenal in first and City in second, with Liverpool eighth in the Premier League table.
Speaking of the Gunners, their comeback hopes against Sunderland were thwarted on Saturday when Brian Brobbey netted a last-minute goal at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland had initially taken the lead thanks to Dan Ballard, but Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard responded for the Gunners before Brobbey's late leveller.
Despite Arsenal's commendable streak of eight clean sheets across all competitions, it was Sunderland who struck first, with Ballard slipping the ball past David Raya after connecting with Nordi Mukiele's headed pass and shaking off Declan Rice.
Nine minutes into the second half, Saka equalized, capitalizing on Rice's high press to receive a pass from Mikel Merino via Eberechi Eze and fire home at the near post. Trossard then unleashed a stunning long-range effort to put Arsenal ahead.
However, the drama wasn't over as substitute Brobbey flicked home a late equalizer following Ballard's header from a cross into the box. With that said, Liverpool.com has taken a closer look at the fixtures on all three teams' schedules...
