Liverpool's Jeremie Frimpong is determined to bounce back from his recent injury setback. The Dutch defender suffered his second injury of the season during Liverpool's resounding 5-1 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt, having to leave the pitch in the early stages.
As a result of this issue, Frimpong has missed Liverpool's last five matches, marking another spell on the sidelines for the ex-Bayer Leverkusen player. The 24-year-old was also forced off during his Premier League debut for Liverpool against Bournemouth, missing subsequent clashes with Newcastle United and Arsenal at the start of the season.
Frimpong's fitness issues have come at a challenging time for Liverpool, who are already dealing with the loss of Trent Alexander-Arnold. After the England star's contentious exit, Liverpool brought in Frimpong to compete with Conor Bradley.
However, both players have had their own injury problems, leaving Dominik Szoboszlai to fill in at the back. In a Snapchat post, Frimpong gave fans a positive update, assuring them that he is working hard in training to get back into the squad.
He posted a photo of himself in Dutch colours, accompanied by the caption: "Working hard to be back soon [bicep emoji]."
This provides another insight into Frimpong's recovery journey, following a series of posts on his social media accounts documenting his rehabilitation process.
The defender has been photographed undertaking rehabilitation sessions at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, working closely with Liverpool's medical team and completing running exercises on the Merseyside training ground.
Head coach Arne Slot has indicated that Frimpong will return to the first-team squad after the international break, although the Dutchman acknowledged he won't be back in time for the Nottingham Forest fixture.
The Liverpool boss was forthright in suggesting the Bundesliga winner is unlikely to be match-ready for Sean Dyche's side's visit to Anfield next Saturday (November 22).
"Alisson for sure and I expect Jeremie back after the international break as well because we play from November until March," the former Feyenoord manager said. "But I don't expect Jeremie to be fully fit for Forest, but with Alisson we expect this."
The Reds will be keen to bounce back from their disappointment against Manchester City when Premier League football returns. They presently sit one point behind the Champions League positions while remaining eight points off the pace in the title challenge.

The defending champions will be looking to return to winning form and will be boosted by Alisson's return, despite Giorgi Mamardashvili's strong recent displays.
Alexander Isak was substituted during the corresponding match against Eintracht Frankfurt last month and had only regained enough fitness to feature among the substitutes without coming on.
However, he has been selected for Sweden and manager Graham Potter has suggested that he will be utilized if required in their two non-crucial World Cup qualifiers.
Liverpool.com says: Frimpong is yet to properly show what he can do in a Reds jersey but Bradley looked back to his best against Real Madrid. If he can repeat that, his Dutch teammate might find a route to minutes tricky.
