Liverpool may be planning for a quiet January, but Manchester City could be about to force the Reds to make a move this month.
Marc Guehi finds himself in the midst of a transfer battle between the Premier League’s big guns, with Liverpool, City and Arsenal all said to be in the running for his signature.
Although the England international is reported to prefer a move to Anfield still, City could be about to test his stance, and the latest claims suggest that his head could yet be turned this month, which would be bad news for the Reds in particular.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace)
Marc Guehi is open to a move to Manchester City, according to The Independent, despite reports over the weekend that the defender would prefer a switch to Liverpool.
City is said to be "intent" on signing the Crystal Palace captain this month, and has already held talks over a potential deal.
The Etihad club is trying to persuad both Guehi and Palace to do a deal now, and will be prepared to match any other offers. The Eagles are said to have wanted at least $47 million (£35M), having agreed a deal with Liverpool during the summer.

Liverpool.com says: Even if Guehi prefers a move to Liverpool, you can't help but worry if City is as determined to sign him as reports would suggest.
You only need to look at their business last January to know they won't waste time in getting a deal done if they feel it's needed. That leaves Liverpool in a very difficult position.
You can understand why the Reds would want to wait for Guehi to become available for free, but it's not worth the risk if City is going for it this month. Liverpool needs a new defender, and letting Guehi go to a direct rival would not be a good look for the club.
Jacobo Ramon (Como)
Liverpool is among a host of clubs monitoring Como defender Jacobo Ramon, according to Caught Offside.
The Reds are said to "admire his pace and composure", although they're supposedly not the only ones, with Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle, Brighton and Crystal Palace all said to be keeping a close eye on him.

Real Madrid though could have a big say. The Spanish giants have an €8M ($9.3M) buy-back clause, having sold Ramon to Como during the summer.
Liverpool.com says: It's no surprise that Liverpool is getting linked with a raft of defenders at the moment. Now that Conor Bradley is out for the rest of the season, the Reds really do need to bring someone in.
Someone like Ramon might be seen as a risk given he's 21 and doesn't have all that much senior experience under his belt, but we're at the point now where Liverpool just needs to make a move for someone.
