Liverpool transfer news as the Reds bid $10 million for a young winger to potential replace Mohamed Salah while Barcelona opens the door for one of its left-backs

Liverpool’s realistic aim for the remainder of the season seems to be securing fifth place or higher, using any Champions League windfall to finance another squad overhaul.
With weaknesses across the team becoming increasingly clear, transfer speculation continues to mount. While the Reds remain in contention for both the Champions League and the FA Cup, the squad currently looks far too unstable at both ends of the pitch to realistically achieve either.
Liverpool has reportedly made a bold move, submitting a bid for a potential Mohamed Salah replacement while Barcelona appear willing to listen to offers for a left-back, a player who could provide crucial cover if Andy Robertson were to depart, with the defender remaining tight-lipped on his future.

Dario Osorio (FC Midtjylland)
Liverpool failed in a $10 million bid for Chilean winger Dario Osario according to Campo. Liverpool’s initial offer for the FC Midtjylland winger was deemed “nowhere near” sufficient, with the 22-year-old Chile international under contract until 2030.
The young attacker is now attracting significant Premier League interest, with Arsenal, Bournemouth, West Ham United, and Fulham all reportedly in the race.
Reports suggest Bournemouth are the frontrunners, having scouted him in person at the MCH Arena, though Liverpool remains long-term suitors. The left-footed attacker is most effective on the right side of the attack, offering the Reds a potential solution on the flank.
Liverpool.com says: Signing Osorio as a potential replacement for Salah could be a smart long-term move for Liverpool. While he may need time to adapt to the Premier League, investing in a young, high-potential attacker could help the Reds maintain its attacking edge and plan for the post-Salah era effectively.

Alejandro Balde (Barcelona)
Barcelona is reportedly open to offers for Alejandro Balde with sporting director Deco unconvinced by the 22-year-old left-back’s quality, according to journalist Matteo Moretto.
While Balde has recently been linked with Manchester United, Liverpool could be a better fit as he is similar to Trent Alexander Arnold, whose creative output has been missed at Anfiled since his departure to Real Madrid in the summer.
With Robertson set to leave Anfield as a free agent in June, Slot faces a shortage of options at left-back. Although Milos Kerkez was signed last summer from Bournemouth for $54 million and has been Slot’s preferred choice, he has yet to emerge as a star performer, but has improved of late.
Liverpool.com says: Players with his attacking intent are loved by Anfield fans, and Balde has the quality to back that intent up. Reds fans will be hoping Robertson does sign an extension but that seems unlikely. Liverpool needs to look at options to add depth in defense particularly at left-back.
