The latest Liverpool transfer rumors as the Reds' possible plans for the January transfer window are 'revealed' amid interest in Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi

Liverpool could accelerate its plans to sign a center-back, a central midfielder and a winger in 2026, according to reports.
Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo are the players that Liverpool have earmarked at center-back and out wide, while the club's desire to sign a new holding midfielder stretches back to Arne Slot's first summer in charge of the Reds.
All three of those positions are expected to be addressed in 2026, but some of the issues could now be looked at in January.
Guehi almost signed for Liverpool on transfer deadline day in September, only for Crystal Palace to pull the plug on the deal at the 11th hour over concerns that its captain's departure would leave the squad lacking defensive depth for the season.

Liverpool would also be less likely to face competition to sign Guehi in January than they would next summer, when the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich could look to sign the England international for nothing.
As for Liverpool's desire to sign a central midfielder, Sky Sports News notes that the issue has been put on the back burner due to Ryan Gravenberch's good form over the last 18 months, but Wataru Endo – Liverpool's only other genuine holding midfielder – is rarely used.
Liverpool is also in contention to sign Semenyo, who Chelsea has reportedly made an initial enquiry with Bournemouth about.
Semenyo has been one of the Premier League's standout players this season, registering eight goals and three assists since the start of the season.

The Athletic's David Ornstein reports that Chelsea intends to sign a new forward next summer, but Semenyo's availability could prompt the club to bring that plan forward to January.
Semenyo's releause clause stands at £65 million ($87 million) and is available to be triggered by any club. However, the clause does expire around two weeks before the January transfer window is due to close, in order to give Bournemouth ample time to source a replacement should the player leave.
Although Chelsea may be interested in signing Semenyo, the Stamford Bridge club will not have a free run at the wide man, with Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Liverpool all believed to be keen on him.
The Guardian reported over the weekend that Liverpool is believed to be Semenyo's preferred destination, with Manchester City his second choice, so Chelsea could have a battle on its hands to convince the 25-year-old to move to West London.
