Liverpool made a winning start to its Premier League title defense last Friday, and a trip to Newcastle United comes next. In the meantime, there have been plenty of transfer developments.
There is now just 10 days remaining in the summer window, and the Reds have added another new face to their ranks, with Giovanni Leoni completing his move from Parma just before Friday's opener against Bournemouth.
But there is, of course, another name that continues to dominate the headlines. Alexander Isak remains of interest to Arne Slot and dropped a bombshell statement on Tuesday.
In that statement, Isak accused Newcastle of "breaking promises" by not allowing him to the leave the club, but the North East outfit hit back with a statement of its own, claiming the conditions of a summer sale have not been met.
In terms of outgoings, Harvey Elliott and Kostas Tsimikas look set to leave Liverpool, with RB Leipzig keen on the former and Marseille said to be interested in the latter.

Alexander Isak latest
After he dropped his statement earlier in the week and Newcastle came back with a rebuttal, we now just have to wait. Liverpool hasn't seen the door open for another bid yet.
Newcastle appears to have Wolves forward Jorgen Strand Larsen in its sights now, having missed out on numerous other attacking targets. Perhaps, if that gets done, there might be a late opportunity for Liverpool to get Isak later in the window.
