Liverpool legend John Aldridge said that he was in need of some counseling after witnessing the Reds' capitulation against Manchester City.
Liverpool conceded four times in the space of 20 minutes to lose 4-0 and crash out of the FA Cup, leaving the Champions League as the club's only hope of silverware for the remainder of the season. Aldridge took to social media after the game, sharing a video of him looking rather despondent as he said he was "gutted" by the result.
“I’m needing a bit of counseling here," Aldridge said. "After what we’ve been put through this year, Liverpool, I can’t believe what I’m seeing, to be quite honest.”

"It's really hard to take, difficult, [the FA Cup is] close to my heart because of many things in my life. Especially with Hillsborough.
"We've gone out in not a great way, the league's gone, the Champions League is going to be really tough, the League Cup's gone. I don't know where we are at the moment.
"I want the manager to do well because if he does well, the club does well, but at the moment it's not great, is it?
"We'll have to just wait and see, but I'm really not looking forward to Wednesday [against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League], because I think Paris are a better team and more dangerous than Man City.
"We've got to show a bit more b------- probably, as players, to get a result there to take it to Anfield."
Meanwhile, Arne Slot spoke in his post-game press conference about what must happen for Liverpool to have a chance of success against PSG.
"There are only three or four days to go, so there are a few things you can do, and one of the things we need to do if we play against Paris Saint-Germain or against Man City – teams of this level – you need to defend better than we did in the 20 minutes when we conceded the four goals," Slot said.
"I think no one will probably remember it but [in] the first 35 minutes there was a lot to like from my team. And it would be nice if we then can score a goal once in a while as well from the chances we create.
"And, again, we faced a team that was outperforming their xG by a mile, and that’s what happens constantly.
"And we every time are under that. But if you want to have a chance of beating Paris Saint-Germain, you have to do both parts better."
